At Indiana Wesleyan University, we recognize and emphasize our responsibility and commitment – grounded in our mission – to develop students, faculty, and staff to serve in a diverse and global world.
The Council for Inclusive Excellence (CIE) at IWU-Marion recognizes that our overall success at achieving our mission, then, depends on how well we value, engage and include the rich Kingdom diversity of our students, staff, and faculty, administrators, and alumni constituents.
We recognize the pursuit of Inclusive Excellence is ongoing and requires collaboration throughout IWU-Marion.as opposed to a single office initiative. Inclusive Excellence requires the fundamental transformation of IWU-Marion by embedding and practicing it in every effort, aspect, and level of the Marion campus. Inclusive Excellence is not a freestanding initiative, treated as separate or distinct from other IWU-Marion planning and operational efforts. It is not additional work; it is the work. It must be embed into all aspects of our operations. It must be a coordinated effort that is systemic, deliberate, and intentional.
Our goal is to make Inclusive Excellence a habit, implemented and practiced consistently throughout our campus.
